KILA RAIPUR: The 70th Kila Raipur Rural Olympic Games were cancelled indefinitely when it continued to pour heavily for the first two days, washing down the complete mega event.
Today morning though some of the events were hosted, the organizers finally cancelled the games looking at the dark skies and the squib weather forecast.
The rumours had it that the famous games, which have seen media coverage from all over the world, and participating from various parts of the country had fallen prey to some sort of tantrik.

The games have been subjected undue heavy showers in the past four years, with this year the organizers having to call it quits. It was also learnt that the organizers were planning a holy ceremony in the coming months to counter the bad omens, if any.
All the same, Sukhbir Singh Grewal, the chief organizer said he would not give the rain so much credit. He said they would be holding the games in February or in December. He said they were seriously considering of shifting the games to December, with the rain problems in January each year. He added that final decisions will be taken in the coming days after he had spoken to the Chairman of the organization, Sumedh Singh Saini, senior police official of the Punjab Police. He said the organization would suffer an estimate loss of Rs. three lacs with the cancellation of the event.
The rain it seems did not prove a menace only for the organizers, the audience and participants were equally perturbed by the matter. Forty eight year old handicapped, Darshan Singh, who had picked up a two quintal weighing sack of wheat each year had now turned to a mungli (a wooden round heavy bat, with iron rings at the bottom). Darshan said it rained and his sack got soaked and heavy, and he was unable to lift it. Now with a mungli, he not only lifted the thirty odd kilograms bat, but swung it in the air with a single hand.
